I DREW A LION

My goal for this project was to do art on a larger scale than I'm used to. Below is a picture of my piece in it's early stages. You can see on the right hand side my two preliminary drawings, as well as a photo reference. Note the vast size difference in the stuff that I normally do and this piece.

I accomplished my goal, I made a really big piece, so that's good. I learned a lot of technical things about doing art, like the fact that it's better to start out with medium tones and then go darker or lighter from there, rather than trying to draw on white the whole time. I will take this into account next time I draw. I don't currently have a picture of the finalized piece, but I will show you in class tomorrow.
